Club History

The Imperial Valley Amateur Radio Club was founded in 2001 to serve the amateur radio community of the Imperial Valley of Southern California. In 2003 the trustee, N7TY, moved to Los Lunas, NM and the club became the Sandia Valley Amateur Radio Club. In 2004 the trustee moved once again; this time to Coronado, CA and for a time the club was known as the Coronado Amateur Radio Club. In 2007 the trustee returned to the Imperial Valley and the club reverted back to its original name.

The club's founder and trustee, N7TY, through the vanity call sign program, was able to obtain the call sign once used by his mother, who is now a silent key.
