PARC Field Day 2004

For the second year the club set up to operate in the Field Day contest at the Carlsbad Safety Center.

This exercise allows radio operators nationwide to practice setting up a station, an antenna, and power in a remote location. This simulates operating in emergency conditions.

There was a station that made contacts through a satellite relay. Another station used laser beams to communicate, carrying messages across a field.

Other stations used human power and solar power to run the communications gear. These methods of power generation give extra points in the contest.

The Roadkill Cafe kept the hungry participants and visitors fed.
