MULTISITE: 1992 - 1999

Part of a team responsible for redesign and rewrite of current lab system aimed at the HMO or multi-entity hospital lab environment. Utilized third party GUI/CHUI front end software (CyberTools) and was the primary contact with CyberTools. Responsible for installing software, setting up testing environments, reporting bugs and installing patches. Provided evaluations of team members as well as training of new team members. Responsible for all collection scheduling, standing orders, collections, order entry, label printing, phlebotomy, specimen batching/transmittal, specimen receipt and e-mail functions. Responsible for menu, unit code (single, profile, derivative, routing, override routing, duplicate, protocol and prompts), priorities (collection and performing), order consolidation, batch type, container type, referral lab, label print device, worklist, aliquot label, MUMPS key, auto load build, e-mail and other miscellaneous file definition options.

MAYO PHYSICIANS OFFICE PC SYSTEM: 1991 - 1992

Project lead working on scaled down version of the Antrim Lab system networked to the Mayo Clinical Lab system using an online service (Telenet) to send and receive orders/ results. Implemented automatic network master file updates to remote PC's, also via Telenet, that allowed file definition changes made at the main lab to be cloned to all of the PC's. Wrote programmer mode 'shell' for use on PC's with MSM user-only licenses. Shell allowed saving/restoring/editing/execution of last several commands; use of PFK keys; command replacement (for custom written utility routines); execution of OS level commands. Shell also included features to aid in tracking time for client billing purposes.
