KC5OGT's Award for Amateur Radio Homepage Excellence

Hits since 03/08/99

Welcome everyone to the Lubbock Amateur Contest Club (LACC) web page! The LACC is a group of like-minded amateur radio operators (hams) who enjoy contesting, special events, and have a deep concern for emergency communications... Established in 1997 the club immediately started code classes for the purpose of upgrading local hams. The classes were very successful and all students upgraded at least one license class. Look for updates, announcements, contest results, and other activities of the LACC on this site... Hope to see you on the bands, 73.

We were very honored that a event of this stature would trust the LACC with the safety and communication needs of the world class participants. The Half Ironman is a qualifier for the Ironman Triathlon held each October in Hawaii. For further information for the event see http://www.greerinc.com/bsl/index.htm

Local Hams asked to help with disaster Communications - January 7th 1999 local hams (including LACC members) met at the Lubbock Amateur Radio Club monthly meeting to discuss formation of a county wide disaster communication network. The February meeting will be with the Honorable Tom Head, who is spearheading the formation of a county wide communication network. More to come on this subject later.
