Welcome to my Photoshop page.  Here is a list of work that I have done either as a project, as a favor, or in complete fun and learning Photoshop 7.  I first started out with version 5.5, went on to 6 and now 7.  For the progression that Adobe is making with this fine program, I can not wait until version 8 comes out!!!

I have spent most of my time searching for tutorials and actions to familiarize myself with what each filter does and how it interacts with everything else.  I have to say, I have come a long way.  I am nowhere near the artist that some people are.  I will usually hang out at The Graphic Forums and from some of the stuff that gets cranked out there, I can see that I have a very long way to go.  One of my problems is I have to look for inspiration quite often because I tend to lack in enough imagination to come up with something completely original.  There is no way that I could have come up with some of the stuff that these people come out with on my own.  At least I try...

Please be patient..  There are a lot of pictures here so it will take some time for all of them to appear.

This is from a tutorial I found for making an animated digital display.  After playing with it, I created this for my youngest nephew.

"Another Chrome" was either a tutorial or an action that I had found.  I was working on a lot of chrome lettering tutorials and this was done as an example for me for future work.

This one was from an idea my sister had.  She wanted to do a picture of Taz wearing camo and I added my flare to it and this is what I came up with.

I created this to be used as my Avatar for The Graphic Forums.  I did this to show my affiliation to the US Army. I enlisted into the Army Reserve in 1990 and this Avatar shows my accomplishments.  The wings show that I qualified as an Air Crewman, the expert badge to the left is for my Expert qualification on the M-16, the badge on the right shows my Marksman qualification on the grenade and the rank on the bottom shows the rank that I achieved within my service, and the background is the seal of the US Army.

I honestly do not remember how I decided to do this one.  I know that I was attempting to create a nebula appearance, as you will see in further pics.  This picture was originally a pic taken during the day. I added the sky and the water reflection.  Everything else, I just darkened the pic a bit to give it the appearance of being night.

This was another chrome tutorial or action I came across.

I did this one after learning how to create planetary rings.  This was my first attempt at portraying a black hole.  I got the idea from another picture I saw from someone else's rendition of a black hole.

This was the next step on my Black Hole series.  I ended up making this look more like a hurricane in space than a black hole.  I actually ended up taking the steps I used for this one and put a hurricane onto a planet.  It should be later on down the list as I am trying to list my work by alphabetical order of the name.

I actually call this one Full Metal Photoshop.  I was trying to think of something new to do when I suddenly thought of the advertisement from the movie Full Metal Jacket.  I took the original helmet from the ad and replaced the word "Kill" with "Photoshop" as well as replacing the bullets with brushes.  As a nice touch, I left in the retaining rings holding the bullets in the strip to give the brushes the appearance of being in a strip.

There is a long story to this one.  The short version is I found an action that creates the old paper look. I then found a western looking font and created this.

This was from an action that I found.  I did one or both nephews and my sister as another example of what I have for future pics.

This is the same action as above but for my other nephew.

And the one for my sister...

I found a tutorial that shows how to make beautiful spirographs.  After learning how to do this, I went wild.  I started using letters, numbers, random shapes, etc. When I was done with the basic shape, I started playing with the different styles that I had downloaded and what Photoshop comes with.

Here is the rest of my spirograph series...

I told you I did a bunch... And I don't think this is all of them either.

I don't remember what got me to do this one.  I just remember playing around and creating this.  I can not remember if it was from something that I saw or if it was from a tutorial I had just finished with.

This is one of my first attempts at a nebula.  I never was happy with how any of them turned out.

I think this was the first chrome tutorial I ran across.

Thinking about it, this may have been the very first chrome tutorial I found.   I don't remember...  I have slept many times since then.

I think I was just screwing around when I did this.  I don't remember anything else about it.

Meet my baby girl.  This is Katy.  She is a Chihuahua that was given to us by my Wife's parents.  She did not get along with their older Chihuahua so she was given to us.  For the longest time, I took every single picture of her that I could think of.  This was from one the pics I took and decided I would modify it and make her personality really show up.

This is Pepper.  She is the one that did not get along with Katy too well.  She is also the one I am constantly threatening my in-laws with kidnapping. I did this picture as well to bring out the personality that she has.

This was done as a project for another team at my company.  They wanted some wanted posters of each team member so it would help with giving a western feeling to their area.  This is also my latest design for a wanted poster.  All others you may see are previous to this one.

This was the first pic I did after the tutorial I found for doing a digital display.

This was another poke at fun with a coworker.  I was working with the parchment action again and trying to make my wanted posters look a little more realistic.  I believe this one was done before the previous similar wanted poster.

I have no idea how I came up with the idea of doing this one.  I just know that I was trying to find a particular test pattern for someone.

I was looking for stock photos of the Enterprise from the new Star Trek series of the same name.  After I was satisfied with what I found, I came up with the idea of doing this.

This was from a tutorial that I had discovered for different text effects.

This is actually from 2 different tutorials.  I did a tutorial that shows how to make the iris. After I was done with the tutorial, it mentioned another tutorial for making the rest of the eye ball.  This was the final work from that.  I am really going to need to use this in a future work...

I have a series of filters that make realistic looking planets.  I used the filters to make the planet, ground, and sun.  The ground was another planet.  I just changed the perspective of it to appear that you are floating above the ground.  Also, being the Star Trek fan that I am, I had to drop in a couple of ships as well.

This is my first and only Copyrighted piece.  My mother told me that her church was going through a name change and they needed a logo.  This is the logo that I came up with.  There was a lot of work and different versions that this came from.  I think I came up with 2 different ideas and then it was just putting the feedback into this final piece.

I had finished a tutorial that taught me some of the finer points of using the air brush. After that tutorial was done, I started farting around and came up with this.

Same as the previous one.  I just used different blending methods and colors.

I created this out of boredom.  I remembered a pic I did using the extrude filter. I then took it a little further and created this.

I honestly can not remember why I created this or what I was doing.  I think I was just screwing around again.

My mother had told me that my step father was rather sick so as a get well card, I created this.

This was from one of the many tutorials that I had found.
