Fellow ATV'ers:

'Tis the month of September and the children are back in school.  Let's all watch out for them and observe the School Zone limits.

Also, this month is the WWWC bike ride on September 28th starting at 8:00 am.  AC5CV, as HOTARC coordinator for this event has issued a call for radio operators to cover the routes.  Perhaps our efforts would be better used as Radio operators than Video operators.  We can discuss this at our meeting on September 19th.  At CORD, as usual.

See you there.

73, Your Prez,
John N5XAK

Minutes of the Board Meeting
Thursday, August 15, 2002

John Gafford, N5XAK called the meeting at the CORD offices to order at 7:03 pm. Attending were

·   John Gafford, N5XAK (President)

·   John Chamberlain, AC5CV (Secretary/Treasurer)

·   Horace Bushnell, W5TAH

·   Norris Martin, KB5SLI

The Minutes of the July Director’s meeting as published in the August Happenings were approved following a motion by W5TAH, second by AC5CV, and unanimous vote.

The July Treasurer’s Report as published in the August Happenings was approved following a motion by W5TAH, second by AC5CV, and unanimous vote.

Old Business

·   Discussed mobile repeater and cross-band repeater options, including use of the old WX radar transmitter, an old 900 MHz band receiver, how we’d have to retune the vestigial sideband filter, and the possibilities of using 1.2 GHz or 2.4 GHz FM instead.

·   AC5CV reported that Guaranty Bank has offered to extend us an open line of credit. The group consensus was that we should just ignore the offer.

New Business

·   N5XAK reported the proposed modifications to our Skycam installation to satisfy the Fire Marshall. Electrician Bud Morgan will install conduit on the outside wall to contain the electrical wiring from the control box almost up to the Skycam. A motion to authorize the Club to pay Mr. Morgan for electrical parts and labor up to $150 was made by AC5CV, seconded by KB5SLI, and unanimously approved.

N5XAK heard a motion by AC5CV to adjourn at 7:30 pm.
