I have always been interested in radios since my early childhood. Some of my parents' first memories of me were of me acting like the radio DJ or talking into the toy cb I had. Well my wish of finally getting on the air came true during the Christmas season of 1994 when i finally got the pieces I needed to put an old citizens band radio in use. On the air however I desired better conversations and more excitement finding that in Amateur Radio with my first license in May 1995 as a technician no-code. Just 5 years later with a lot of prodding from friends I fulfilled my dream and became a amateur extra April 2000 courtesy of restructuring . In 2001, I became a vice-president and newsletter editor for a local amateur radio club.In my tenure, with the two other officers, we attained a Louisiana business incorporation for the club and 501c3 non-profit status for the ham club. In 2004, I took the plunge and became the president as well as still keeping the newsletter editor reins. You never know what bigger and better things can happen! |
