The Zone Officer will coordinate efforts in their area during a time of need, by being familiar with the potential hazards (disasters), planned responses (communication needs), and available resources (manpower and equipment) in their zone. The Zone Officer should also encourage people to participate in whatever way they can. The townships in each fire zone are listed below. Fort Drum

Coordinate Jefferson County (civilian) wireless emergency communications with the Fort Drum EOC. Develop a list of operators with authorized base access to staff on post facility. Keep an open dialog and presence on post.

Oversee net operations. Ensure availability of trained NCS. Compile and deliver net reports to SEMO (RACES) and ARRL (ARES). / Prepared to act on behalf of FDO in his or her absence.
