NET SCHEDULE
![]()
Regularly scheduled RACES nets have been suspended indefinitely in lieu of The Jefferson County Radio Amateur Traffic Net & other ARES activities held every weeknight at 1900 (7:00pm) local time. NTS format traffic is encouraged to be passed through this net (and the Rooster Roster 147.255+ 0730 daily). This is the format now used during activation. Practice makes routine. Learn NOW, before we need it later. If you would like the form to print out, click here.
Two Simulated Emergency Tests (SET) are performed each year, usually in conjunction with a state or federal exercise. Participation in an SET is vital. They are some of the few times that we truly can test and demonstrate the integrity, ability, and resolve of the organization. Activities like these will shape our future and decide what type of backing and support we will receive from our sponsors.

(Old net standard)
Net operations commence every Wednesday evening at approximately 1900 (7:00pm) local time, for less than one hour. One unannounced weekend call up will be held each month. The 147.255+ repeater (pl 151.4) is normally used for training nets. In the event of a repeater outage, net operations will be conducted on the output frequency (147.255) in simplex mode. The preamble for this net can be found here. All amateurs are encouraged to participate, whether you are affiliated or not. This is also a directed net so please do not jump in without NCS acknowledgement. The use of the term "This is" with an un-keyed pause before your call sign to announce your presence, is strongly recommended, but currently voluntary.

SIMPLEX OPERATIONS |
The repeater will be turned off after announcements are made. Mobile stations will be called first. All other stations will be called in the order they checked in. Exchange your signal report with the NCS and please relay for those stations that are not able to reach the EOC directly. The repeater will then be restored and again all stations will be called to give peer reports. |
