Thank you for checking out my web site. I am currently building it, so bear with me and check back often. I am scanning several photos which I will post soon and I will have links to some cool sites. PLEASE feel free to e-mail me with comments or suggestions.

My name is Alex L. Picciuolo. I was first licensed when I was 14 years old under the old code rules. My elmer was Charlie Wright W4PED in North Augusta, SC. I enjoyed working on old equipment with him and building my station out of these old rigs (which were bought cheap or donated). I don't know what I would have done if it weren't for him and his patience with me.

I quickly became intimate with A1 QSO's and soon learned to read up to 30 WPM. I got my General ticket and became lazy. I never took the tests for Advanced and Extra.

I moved to Columbia in 1994 and was fortunate enough to become friends with some hams here. One of whom I am proud to say just graduated from Clemson and is back in town. KE4RGY, Mike Herring, needs to be congratulated. He is getting me motivated to take the Extra exam.

Sadly enough, I have not been active on HF in several years, but every now and then, someone feels sorry enough for me to let me CW QSO in their shack. Hopefully, in the near future, I will have all my HF rigs in working order and will be back on the air.

I have a digital camera and tend to be a wildman with it. I plan to post lots of photos of South Carolina Ham goings-on. So let me know if I am missing an event and I will try my best to cover it.

I finally put my ICOM in the Explorer with Mike KE4RGY so that we would have something to do on the way to CHARLESTON for the hamfest. You can click to see us in action. This has several photos that may appear to be random and this is because I am still not the greatest HTML writer. Bear with me.

73 for now.

Alex
