CW Stands for Continuous Wave. It is a way of sending and receiving a radio message through a series of Dashes and Dots (Dits and Dahs).

If you listen to the wav file at top of this screen (by clicking on the Play button ) you can clearly hear the BOB in my name. BOB
B= - * * *
O= - - -
B= - * * *

This is the essence of Morse Code.
You may ask "why would anyone use this these days?". The answer is in the fact that because if it's simplicity, it is one of the most reliable means of radio communiations when conditions are bad or equipment needs to be reliable and cheap.
