My Gonset G-50

My Gonset G-50

The Gonset G-50 is a six meter AM transceiver from 1958. It puts out approximately 28 watts from 50 to 54 Megahertz, through crystals or the included VFO. It will receive all of the six meter band. The radio has twelve tubes altogether. A low pass filter is included on the back to reduce interference with TV broadcasts.

The picture is of my Gonset. It will tune up fine into a dummy load, and the modulation will adjust to the correct level. There is no rust on it, but the paint is a bit faded. The receiver will produce static when turned on. The squelch and volume controls work like it says in the manual. I do not have access to a six meter antenna, so I have never tested the receiver or transmitter on the air.
