Memory PIC Keyer

The next keyer design adds more features into the chip. The keyer can accepts command which is given by the user via paddle. The command can alter the keyer setting like auto spacing, semi/automatic mode, swap paddles, set callsign, etc.

Also added with feature to act as beacon generator, where it will periodically send beacon message (DE /B). Beacon feature is useful during transmitter testing, navigation, propagation experiment and other purpose

User can store message into chip's internal memory, which can be played later. Up to 50 character memory is available. The keyer also programmed with several common message, like CQ CQ DE K and several other message. You have to select which message to be played if you press the CMD/MSG button.

PCB (Eagle format)

As you can see, the keyer has only one switch (a push button). Pressing this button will play the selected message, while press and hold the button will put the keyer into command mode where you can command the keyer to alter its setting..

Here is the keyer command :

A Use Alternate Callsign
B Beacon Mode
C Enter Alternate Callsign
E Enter Memory Message
F Fast/Slow Speed Select
M Message Select
S Semi/Full Automatic Keyer
X Exchange Paddle

I set some common message, so you don't have to enter them manually. If you need special message which not in the list below, you then need to program it into memory using M1 to M3 button.

Short CQ Message
Long CQ Message
CQ DX Message
Contest Message
NCS CQ Message

Detailed manual of how to operate the keyer can be read in this document (PDF)
