NOTICE
Due to an FCC ruling all public safety and business band frequencies are being forced to go from 25 khz spacing to 12.5 khz spacing by January 1 2013. As the business band users switch over to the new narrow band channels some may be switching to digital and/or encrypted radios. The business frequencies listed here will still mostly be the same, but you may now only hear noise on your analog scanner. Using a digital scanner will receive the narrow digital transmissions as long as they have not been encrypted. The MURS radio system will probably be forced to observe the new narrow limits as well as the ISR, FRS, and color dot systems. If your scanner can't pick up your favorite group you will always be able to listen to the Amateur (ham) radio bands. We are not changing and your scanner will work. Who knows you might even want to join in the "on air" fun by getting your very own Amateur Radio License. |
