If you don't know what you're doing, storm spotting or chasing is dangerous. We do not encourage unqualified people to spot or chase storms. If you're not sure what you're doing--like me--the best place to be during a tornado or severe storm is probably the deepest hole you can find--period.
In fact, storm chasing can sometimes be dangerous even when you're trained. Ask Mark about the night he ended up under a wall cloud.
