| The
KB9OPY Beacon broadcasts 24 hours a day and has been in constant operation since January
1, 2001. It broadcasts on 144.285 MHz at 40 watts using a Ramsey FX-146 transmitter and a
PA-1 linear amplifier. The transmissions are computer controlled with call sign
identifications in MCW every ten minutes "on the 5's" and a full identification
at the top and at the bottom of the hour. Practice code messages are broadcast four times
an hour. The beacon operates according the FCC rules concerning special provisions of automatically controlled beacons (Subpart C 97.203).
