Subject: MICOR 800 MHz to 927 MHz Conversion Just posted two pic's showing where to cut etch to convert a MICOR 800 MHz PA to 927 MHz. The results will provide 60-70 watts out for 1.5-2 watts input with +12vdc on the power control line. The pic's are of the controlled stage and the predriver stage. Recommend using a drimbal like tool to cut a gap in the etch starting at the point indicated in the diagram and finish approximately where shown. Stop when you reach 60-70 watts out. If you go too far you can add silver paint similar to the syntorx or maxtrac vco modes. Recommend adjusting the power control line for about 50-60 watts which was about 6vdc on my amp. Final current at 12vdc was 20ish amps not very efficient. Also, when I finished at 927 MHz, at 902 the power output was 80 watts. All measurements were with the isolator and LPF bypassed. This is a brut force method and some tweaking to the balanced amps mite help however, 60 watts came up ezy so I left the balanced amps for another day or someone else to play with. Any questions or findings please email. Thanks to John NA0S for his help. tnx Jim W5RM Huntsville, AL
