The following text was sent to me by Wouter Spiering I have refrained from editing it as much as possible. However, my direct predecessors name's in red and those people known or believed to be still living have had their exact date of birth edited and I have made a few small changes; otherwise this document is as I received it. I wish to thank Wouter for this work, which has been a big help to me. The change in spelling in my line was made by my grandfather Bernard Carl Ferdinand Spiering (9). (From: Een faniliehistorie. He had two sons with his wife Margaretha van Hoorn; Lord Robert van Heusden and Lord Wouter van Spierinck. This Wouter Spiering was the first to use Spiering as a last name and can be considered the progenitor of those that bore and bare the name." My particular interest is trying to make the links between Friedrich Wilhelm Spiering (1) and Wouter van Spierinck. There was an Abraham Spiering who emigrated to "East Germany" about 1480 and is known to have had children and grandchildren there, he is likely part on my line. Born on 6 Sep 1849 in Pommern. Friedrich Wilhelm died in Rockford, Ill on 22 Apr1933, he was 83. Occupation: Farmer.
In Oct 1871 when Friedrich Wilhelm was 22, he married Emilie Caroline Luedtke, in Pommern. Born on 23 Dec 1848 in Prussia. Emilie Caroline died in Rockford, Ill on 16 Mar 1902, she was 53.

Abraham Jr, in Brownton, Minn. Born on 25 Jan 1891 in Dryden, Minn. Frank A.S. died in Gaylord, Minn on 2 Aug 1978, he was 87.
• --   Martha Louisa. Born on 4 Aug 1898 in Dryden, Minn. Martha Louisa died in Sibley, Minn on 25 Mar 1962, she was 63. On 15 Mar 1916 when Martha Louisa was 17, she married Herbert Burke. Born on 2 May 1891 in Sibley, Minn. Herbert died in Sibley, Minn on 21 Mar 1936, he was 44.

In May 1896 when Carl August Wilhelm was 23, he first married Ethel May Purdy, in Rockford, Ill. They were divorced in 1907.

On 2 Apr 1910 when Carl August Wilhelm was 37, he second married Jessie Armitage.

7. Johannes Louis Spiering. Born on 11 Oct 1874 in Rockford, Ill. Johannes Louis died in Rockford, Ill on 8 Dec 1958, he was 84. Occupation: Hand moulder.

On 7 Sep 1897 when Johannes Louis was 22, he married Florence Iris Hoag, daughter of Martin Hoag & Sarah Stark, in Belvidere, Ill. Born on 26 Nov 1876 in Caerry valley. Florence Iris died on 21 Mar 1938, she was 61.

        i.     Wyla Mae. Born on 9 Oct 1899 in Belvidere, Ill.  On 26 Nov 1917 when Wyla Mae was 18, she married Harry Wright, in Rockford, Ill. They were divorced.

8. Heinrich Albert Carl Spiering. Born on 2 Feb 1877 in Rockford, Ill. Heinrich Albert Carl died in Toledo, Ohio on 26 Sep 1943, he was 66.

On 10 Jan 1906 when Heinrich Albert Carl was 28, he married Charlotta Cronk, daughter of Joel E. Cronk, in Rockford, Ill. Born in Belvidere, Ill.

9. Bernard Carl Ferdinand Spiering. Born on 28 Sep 1882 in Rockford, Ill. Bernard Carl Ferdinand died in Belvidere, Ill. on 28 Nov 1954, he was 72. Occupation: Carpenter and Farmer.

On 8 Apr 1904 when Bernard Carl Ferdinand was 21, he first married Millis Sterling. Millis died on 31 May 1912 in Belvidere, Ill.

On 15 Feb 1906 when Friedrich Emil was 21, he married Clara Wilhelmina Brinkman, in Belvidere, Ill. Born on 17 Dec 1886 in Belvidere, Ill. Clara Wilhelmina died in Rockford, Ill on 14 Oct 1959, she was 72.

12. Carl Martin (Charles) Spiering. Born on 17 Dec 1876 in Kamitz, Pommern. Carl Martin (Charles) died in Arlington, Minn on 24 May 1948, he was 71.

On 11 Oct 1901 when Carl Martin (Charles) was 24, he first married Martha Kujas, daughter of Christian Kujas & Mathilda Kollish, in Penn, McLeod, MN. Born on 17 Jul 1882 in Round Grove, Minn. Martha died in Brownton, Minn on 24 Dec 1927, she was 45.

13. Frank August Spiering. Born on 1 Dec 1883 in Rockford, Ill. Frank August died in Hutchinson, Minn on 10 Nov 1945, he was 61.

On 27 Oct 1908 when Frank August was 24, he married Anna Marie Heller, daughter of Friedrich Heller & Amelia Pless, in Acoma. Born on 10 Sep 1890 in Schielde, Prussia. Anna Marie died on 28 Nov 1984, she was 94.

        iv.     Eileen Ruth. Born 1917 in Hutchinson, Minn.  On 14 Mar 1942 when Eileen Ruth was 24, she married Gilbert Boldt, in Hutchinson, Minn. Born on 28 Apr 1917. Gilbert died in Hutchinson, Minn on 17 Apr 1980, he was 62.

On 14 Oct 1912 when William Bernard Herman was 24, he married Lydia M Rathke, daughter of William Rathke & Emilie Rickert, in Brownton, Minn. Born on 26 Feb 1888 in Minn. Lydia M died in Brownton, Minn on 8 Dec 1946, she was 58.

17. August Wilhelm Herman Spiering. Born on 10 Feb 1894 in Dryden, Minn. August Wilhelm Herman died in Lakeland, Fl on 31 Jan 1969, he was 74.

On 30 Nov 1916 when August Wilhelm Herman was 22, he married Jessie Emmaline Francis, daughter of William Francis & Bertha Nass, in Hutchinson, Minn. Born on 19 May 1900 in Hutchinson, Minn. Jessie Emmaline died in Lakeland, Fl on 25 Jun 1987, she was 87.

18. August Frierich Spiering. Born on 4 Aug 1875 in Germany. August Frierich died in Gaylord, Minn on 23 Mar 1941, he was 65.

On 3 Jun 1904 when August Frierich was 28, he married Maria Elisabeth Kruger, daughter of Christian Hermann Kruger & Maria, in Mountville, Minn. Born on 12 Jan 1872 in Dryden, Minn. Maria Elisabeth died in Winthrop, Minn on 19 May 1923, she was 51.

21. Arthur Gustav Spiering. Born on 27 Oct 1892 in Dryden, Minn. Arthur Gustav died in Gaylord, Minn on 16 Oct 1970, he was 77.

On 22 Jun 1914 when Arthur Gustav was 21, he married Hedwich (Hattie) Roepke, in Gaylord, Minn. Born on 2 Jun 1893 in Mountville, Minn. Hedwich (Hattie) died in St. Paul, Minn on 7 Jan 1950, she was 56.

They had one child:

        i.     `Betty Lou. Born 1927 in Seattle.  On 8 Dec 1945 when Betty Lou was 18, she married Delos Walter Alfred Paulus, in St. Paul, Minn.

22. Alfred Wilhelm Spiering. Born on 2 Jun 1897 in Arlington, Minn. Alfred Wilhelm died in New Ulm, Minn on 1 Sep 1975, he was 78.

On 14 Oct 1922 when Alfred Wilhelm was 25, he married Alma Marie Magdalene Andersen, daughter of Hans Andersen & Emma Bade, in Arlington, Minn. Born on 1 Sep 1898 in Arlington, Minn.

25. James Bernard Spearing. Born on 13 Feb 1915 in Ramona, Mich. James Bernard died in Rockford, Ill on 23 Aug 1936, he was 21. Occupation: Auto mechanic.  On 23 Aug 1936 when James Bernard was 21, he married Katherine Mary Martinson.

They had one child:

        i. Thomas Martin (Tommy). Born on 27 Dec 1936. Died 1 Sep 2001. Occupation: Factory worker.  On 16 Sep 1957 when Thomas Martin (Tommy) was 20, he first married Sharryn. They were divorced.  On 14 Feb 1963 when Thomas Martin (Tommy) was 26, he second married Melody Feltz.  Tom had three or four children.  Tylor is his oldest son
