Field Day 2000

With the price of gas being $2.00 a gallon turnout was a little on the light side but was well attended.
Point wise I think we did a little less than last year but I think it was well worth the effort.
A challenge broke at the end of the day.  Seems the Voice station was point wise ahead of the CW station.  There seems to be some sort of a challenge for these 2 stations for next year.  ALTHOUGH I hear Roger WB8WJV found 5 more contacts he FORGOT? To log.  This put him over the top.  Sounds like a real challenge for next year between he and John N8ZE who are setting the rules.

And we thought we were communicators

IN THE DRAWER!! In Modesto, CA,
Steven Richard King was arrested for trying to hold up a Bank of America
branch without a weapon. King used a thumb and a finger to simulate  a gun but unfortunately he failed to keep his hand in his pocket.

DID I SAY THAT Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a
robbery suspect who just couldn't control himself during a lineup.
When detectives asked each man in the lineup to repeat the words,
"Give me all your money or I'll shoot," the man shouted, "that's not what I said!"

ARE WE COMMUNICAT

ING?? A man spoke frantically into the phone,
"My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"
"Is this her first child?" the doctor asked. "No, you idiot," the man shouted, "this is her husband!"

NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE

Amish and the Elevator

An Amish boy and his father were visiting a mall. They were amazed by almost
everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could
move apart and back together again. The boy asked, "What is this, Father?"
The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, "Son, I have never
seen anything like this in my life, I don't know what it is."

While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, an old lady in a wheel chair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls
opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small circular numbers above the

walls light up sequentially. They continued to watch until it reached the
last number and then as these numbers began to light in reverse order.

The walls opened up again and a beautiful 24 year old woman stepped out.

The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said quietly to his
son, "Go get your Mother."
