Don't Forget the ARES Breakfast

If you haven't heard or don't know the last Saturday of every month is an ARES breakfast.  It is held at Howard Johnsons on West Side Saginaw Road.

A good time is had by all at breakfast.  Prices are cheap and the conversation is fantastic.

You don't have to be an ARES member to attend breakfast,  just show up for the fun of it.   Breakfast is at  10:30 AM  still in time for the breakfast specials!

Hope to see one and all there.

Help Needed

KD8TR Bob and Dean are looking for help for a walkathon taking place on Saturday, April 29th, 8:00 AM.

Volunteers are needed to provide communications from check point to check point and roving vehicle to check point.

We did a great job last year on this project.  If you can spare some time this morning to help with a great cause please let Dean know at [email protected] or phone him at 684-4044  or Contact Bob KD8TR 684-2084.

Testing

Bay City will be holding testing on April 15th at the American Red Cross on Washington Avenue.

Due to the fact that testing is April 15 the day the new rules come into play testing will begin at 2:00 PM for paper upgrades only.  Sign in for written and code tests will be at 3:00 and testing will start at 4 for code and written tests.

We will do paper upgrades during testing hours but if you are planning on doing your paper upgrade please try to arrive between 2 and 3.  A paper upgrade is when you have a CSCE showing you have passed your element and just need a new license.

You will need a check or money order made payable to ARRL/VEC for $6.65 for a paper upgrade.  If you have any questions please give me at call at 892-1212.  Debbie KA8YKK
