Rev. S M McKinney, Methodist minister, who lived near Amigo, died at his home Sunday morning.

He is survived by the following sons and daughters:

Samuel M. McKinney, George R., Luke, Hugh, Allen, and Robert (all brothers) joined the church at the same time, February 1881, on Barker's Ridge (later burnt) schoolhouse under Reverend Whitman. (Charlotte McKinney)

Samuel Mitchell, George R. , and Allen all began preaching in 1883. Samuel Mitchell's first sermon was at Eri Johnson's on Tommy's Ridge, George R. at Barker's Ridge Schoolhouse, Allen at Eli place on Devil's Fork near Camp Minago. (Charlotte McKinney)

Samuel Mitchell McKinney and Sarah Ann Cadle moved into their log cabin on the old farm above Amigo shortly after their marriage. The cabin was erected by family as a wedding gift.

In the 1910 Census they indicated they had lived on the property for 36 years.
