Welcome to KB7QDI's Main Web Site

My name is Dean Hoover, and I live in Mukwonago, Wisconsin (about 15 miles SW of Milwaukee).

I am a General class Amateur Radio Operator. Most of my operating is on the 2-meter band, specifically the Milwaukee Repeater Club's machine at 146.910 Mhz (minus offset / 127.3 PL for access). I also have a Yaesu FT-757, but am antenna-challenged for the moment.

This web page describes a few things that I have done... or doing... with ham radio. I hope you enjoy.

Why morse code is so important

One of the great new things I've been playing with is Voice-Over-IP (VoIP). If you have broadband internet access, you can make free (or really cheap) phone calls around the world using the internet.
