Ham Radio and Me
I first became fascinated with radio while in grade school.  It all started when I saw my first crystal set.  Can't remember what I had to trade for it's acquisition, but it was worth it!  From then on I was hooked!  It wasn't until I was in my thirties however that I finally tested for and received my novice license.  Now at age 45 I am about ready to take my extra class exam.
Current Radio Interests
All my equipment has been purchased used or built from kits (okay, okay I did buy a new 2 meter HT).  It's great fun to find an old rig and bring it back to life.  Someday I hope to learn enough to build a rig from scratch.  Operating QRP is what I love most and right now my main rig is an HW-8 picked up at a swap meet. With 2 watts out it's defiantly QRP!
