THE KANSAS TRAILS CHAPTER

The chapter is based on historical trails throughout the United States. Also on other historical points of interest.

The first part as you may imagine from the name is based on trails that began in, ended, or passed through the state of Kansas, and the cities connected with them.

THE SEALS AND WORKSHEETS

The first thing you have to do is contact other members who have the cities you need to complete all of the trails.

The Four Corners

The four corners of Kansas are Elwood, Galena, Elkhart, and St. Francis.

The Military Trail

The cities associated with the Military Trail are Baxter springs, Fort Scott, Osawatomie, and Fort Leavenworth.

The Pony Express Trail

The cities on the Pony Express Trail are Hiawatha, Seneca, and Marysville.

The Oregon Trail

On the Oregon Trail the cities are, Lawrence, Topka, Westmoreland, and Hanover.

The Smoky Hill Trail

Oskaloosa, Fort Riley, Salena, Fort Hays and Fort Wallace were the main cities on the Smoky Hill Trail.

The Santa Fe Trail

The cities on the Santa Fe Trail are Gardner, Council Grove, Great Bend, Dodge City, and Liberal.

The Chisholm Trail

The Chisholm Trail cities are Hillsboro, Halstead, Wichita, and Caldwell. Another pretty line

When you have all of the trails the next step is called WESTWARD HO. This consists of collecting 60 Farmers, 60 Four Corners, and 20 each of the six trails. (These seals are collectable for points anyway.)

Another pretty line

When you have collected the required amount of seals you will receive the worksheet and your designators for the Freight Hauler Seal. To complete this seal you must collect a wagon, spare parts, 8 mules, and 4000 pounds of freight

After you have aquired the Freight Hauler seal, you will receive your Cooke County worksheet and designator. This seal is based on Cooke County, Texas, and requires collecting settlements and communities of the 1800's, modes of transportation, cattle trails, and some of the influential people in the county. (Thanks to Hank W5HWI for his research and help)
