The Program
Crossband Repeat is a Windows based program to control
crossband repeat functions using a parallel port on a computer.

The minimal requirements to run the program are :

  • Pentium or higher computer
  • 32 meg or higher ram
  • hard disk drive
  • one printer port
  • 16 color monitor
  • Windows 95B or higher (ie. 32 bit)
  • Sound card

Simplex uses the following pins on the printer port:

Pin Des.Use
2IO1PTT output rig a
3IO2PTT output rig b
11BusyCOR input rig a
13SelectCOR input rig b
16&17Ground

Crossband uses Anjan Rakshit's VBIO.DLL which is included in
VBIO23.zip...It should be unzipped and vbio.dll placed in
windows system directory..Hook the PTT line from rig a to
pin 2 and the COR from rig a to pin 11...Hook the PTT line
from rig b to pin 3 and the COR to pin 13...Hook the audio
out from rig a to the mic of rig b and the audio out from
rig b to the mic of rig a......  Don't forget to match the
impedance of the speaker to the mic.....When rig a hears a
signal it keys rig b....When rig b hears a signal it keys
rig a....
