My name is Robert Sova and my call is KB5QN.  My original call was WD5BJA and I was licensed as a TECHNICIAN (today we call them TECH +).  I was only going to be a tech class license but when someone in the amateur radio community said that being a technician was like being a glorified eleven meter bander, I took offense to that.  So I upgraded to Advanced and have been one ever since.  I've owned 5 different HF rigs and sold everyone of them because my interest lies in 2 meter and 70 cm band.  I currently work both the 2 meter and 450 repeaters plus some work on simplex operations is very nice.

I'm working on owning my own repeater.  I'm trying to set it up to work in emergency conditions so that it might be utilized when we have power failures and other situations that might use such a item.

I used to live in Dallas and that's why I have the five call.  But now I live in Montgomery Village America, which is in Maryland, inside the city of Gaithersburg.  I work for Lockheed-Martin in Bethesda, MD and still have ties to Dallas, TX.  I am a member of ARES, RACES, and I serve on the Montgomery Amateur Radio Club's repeater committee.
