MINUTES OF MARCH MEETING

MINUTES OF APRIL MEETING

Editor Leaving

Well, I promised you I'd get the news right out as soon as it happened, but I've been out of town for much of March and missed getting the minutes done for you.  So, here will be both March and April and other accumulated notes.

Out of town you ask?  Yes, we've listed our cute cottage by the sea with a deep water canal and view of the Atlantic, and are looking up-state for property closer to medical for both of us.  So, I will be resigning as your editor and from the Club Board the first of May.

So, anyone who wants a fun job (easy too, now that we publish to the web directly), let Dean, W4WHN, your president know.  I'm going to miss it, I know.  And I want to thank all of you who have supported the bulletin all this time.

NEW MARATHON REPEATER IS UP

By Chuck, ND7K

The new 2M repeater is online on 147.105+; no tone required.  The QTH is about 1/4 mile north of the east end of the Marathon airport runway.  The antenna is a 4 element beam point west, up 50' with a CWID of "ND7K."  The coverage by automobile has been from the west end of Long Key to Summerland Key, plus full quieting on the Channel Five bridge.  The repeater has battery backup in event of a power failure.

Parts arrived during March and a cabinet was built in the garage next to the tower for the machine.  With donations from many hams in the area, the machine went on the air March 14th.

Please let Chuck know how you like the new machine and how the service area is for you.
