AALog: Logging software for your computer. The FCC no longer requires you to log all of your contacts, but it is nice to be able to look at a list of who you've talked to. Also, if you plan to apply for awards or be active in contests, a good log is a necessity.

BeaconSee: This program uses your PC sound card to listen for the propagation beacons on 20 meters, 17 meters, 15 meters, 12 meters, and 10 meters. By listening for each beacon, you can estimate where in the world your signal is likely to go most strongly.

CWGet: This program uses your sound card to translate Morse Code transmissions into readable text. This is a VERY powerful program, one of the best available. It is shareware, and worth the registration price.

CWMIDI: This freeware program will convert a text file into Morse Code -- but in the form of MIDI output for your soundcard or for a MIDI-capable musical instrument. Useful for demonstration, or for creating code-practice sessions.

Digipan: A favorite for the new PSK-31 digital mode. Use your computer to easily and reliably chat with other amateurs worldwide by typing on your keyboard. More fun than the Internet, because it's radio!

FTV-Demo: A "multi-mode" package for various forms of digital amateur radio.

MMTTY: The best available RTTY (Radio-Teletype) program. Uses your soundcard, and costs nothing.

QSL Maker: Create your own custom QSL Cards!

Scope 3.0: An oscilliscope for your soundcard.

SR5: A programmable digital signal processor and spectrum analyzer. Use your computer soundcard to filter out noise to discern the weaker signals. Shareware, but worth the price!

TrueTTY: The prior champion RTTY program. Also does PSK-31. Shareware.

WinWarbler: Another PSK31 program that shows three separate conversations at the same time. Freeware.

Macintosh

We have only 3 files so far -- a Morse Code trainer, a Morse Code Decoder, and a Multi-mode program. I don't have a Mac, so I have no idea how well these work, but they are well reviewed.

Linux

Right now there was only one program available to us, a morse code tutor.
As we find new software, this library will be updated on future versions of the HamInfo disk.
