This page may take some time to load, and is still very much under construction.
Visible throughout the region, Maj. Edwin Howard Armstrong's Alpine tower was the first FM broadcast station in the world. I strongly recommend reading the book Empire of the Air and the Ken Burns' PBS film documentary of the same name. Without diminishing the contributions of Hertz, Marconi, Tesla, and others, I think Armstrong is arguably responsible inventing radio as we know it today.
My QTH following a recent roofing, siding and window replacement. My Hustler 6BTV vertical antenna (not visible in this photo) is mounted on a mast attached to the chimney. The antenna begins about 8 ft. above the peak of the roof.

DX Spotting assistant "Bica" patiently waits out a brief 10 meter opening to the Pacific.

Station mascot "Smokey" takes refuge when the band shifts during a recent RTTY contest. Don't worry, Smokey, that ZD7 is in the log!

Always get a buddy to help you on that antenna project!
