Live from Providence, Rhode Island

Welcome! You've found K1VSR's home on the web. The name here is Shawn and in case you didn't already notice, I'm coming to you from Providence, RI. I became licensed as a technician on December 24, 2003 and am currently studying for my general license. I got interested in amateur radio directly from my interest in DXing the FM broadcast band (88-108 MHz). You can usually find me roaming around the VHF and UHF bands here in the Ocean State, especially 1.25 meters (222 MHz) and 70 centimeters (440 MHz). Since I don't yet have the equipment necessary for fruitful simplex or SSB operation, I'm pretty much limited to short-area simplex and repeater use. Below is a list of repeaters where you can find me:

2 Meters (144-148 MHz)

  • 146.700 Cranston, RI
  • 146.760 Scituate, RI

1.25 Meters (222-225 MHz)

  • 223.920 Warwick, RI
  • 223.980 Johnston, RI
  • 224.100 Scituate, RI

70 Centimeters (420-450 MHz)

  • 441.550 Johnston, RI
  • 447.025 Johnston, RI
