Thank you for visiting my 4-H 2000 page.

My projects in 2000 were Chickens, Turkeys, Tractor Driving, and Catch-It-Calf.

In chickens, I didn't get any outstanding awards, and got a 97 (I think) on my record book.

In Turkeys, I didn't enter any in the meat classes, because a mix-up when we got them resulted in us getting Royal Palm turkeys, instead of Broad-Breasted Whites, for our Fair batch. I did get a 2nd place and (2) 3rd places, though, in the breeder class, which I was pleased with.

In Tractor Driving, I got a blue with my poster, and a 2nd place and reserve champion in the driving contest.

Catch-It-Calf was probably my most exciting project this year. I won 2nd place in the CIC class at Fair in both live placing and showmanship. I entered the county-wide showmanship class, but did not place. (Big suprise! :-) ) Then at the awards potluck/banquet, I won 1st overall!! I was very surprised to say the least, especially because I won by 0.5 of a point!!, with 95.9 points out of 100. I was grateful for two great sponsors (Berthoud National Bank, and Colorado Tractor Corp.), a great committee, and a great group of other kids to go through the program with. As far as I know, the program has now been covered in the Loveland Reporter-Herald, the Fence Post, and the North 40 News. Thank you to all who helped me, and also to those who called my attention to or provided copies of the articles!!

That was about it for 4-H in 2000. As with anything on this site, email me if you have questions, please!
