Digipan - Text File transmission NOTE: You may only send a TEXT file, not a Word file or Excel file. You can 'Paste' the contents of Word or Excel into a NotePad file, or directly into DigiPan 'TX window'(where you type) then just press T/R(F9) to TX the data. But some formating may be lost. just below the top Menu - the Function Keys are laid out F1 - F12 A: Click on File(F7) this will bring up the window called 'Send File' B: Select the TEXT file you wish to send and click 'Open' C: At that point the text file is loaded into the DigiPan TX buffer and when you click T/R(F9) the file will be TX'd When actually sending the file the characters will appear in the upper window as they are sent. To help understanding the use of notepad try typing in a 'Brag' list of components used in your PSK operation. Just start NotePad and type in the following: Rig here is ........ Power out is ~5 watts. Antenna is Inverted V at 25 feet. Computer is IBM Laptop 433 MHz. Software is Digipan 1.6D Fill in with what equipment you have then use Notepad to 'Save' the file as 'MyPSK.txt' NotePad should default and save the file into the MyDocuments folder. Next run Digipan, without the soundcard interface plugged in. Load the file MyPSK.txt using directions above and press T/R. You should audibly hear the PC speakers "warble" the PSK code and see it print out on the main Digipan screen. Some programs 'grab' the soundcard so playing audio CDs or anything that generates soundcard noise shouldn't be used while using digital modes.
