January 1999 South Texas PIO Report This report is much too late for January, but I wanted to get something to you since it had been so long since the last report. Media Hits Lee Evans (AC5GG) reports that a plug for an Amateur Radio theory class in southeast Texas appeared in Ja. 6, 1999's edition of the Port Arthur News. Great work Lee! Media Traffic John Hall (KC5OFV) reports that he: * Provided several Radio Shack stores with updated listings of repeaters, nets and club meetings in the Corpus Christi area. * Is considering taking on more responsibility as the STARC club Vice President. John also reports that the STARC club and the Armadillo Gang met with Corpus Christi emergency management in January to work towards an official relationship with the city for emergency communications. Thanks John! Lee Evans also reports taking on greater responsibility with his new post of RACES District Radio Officer for District 22. Thanks also to Roger Wines (W5WIA) for checking in this month.
