Log File Comparison Utility by KA5WSS March 4, 1997 The utility in this package can be used to compare two log files from the same contest. The Windows routine should run on Windows 3.1/95/NT and OS/2. Windows 3.1 and OS/2 users should have Win32s v1.25 or later installed. The included files are: logcomp.exe: Compares two log files of the same contest (Windows). dlogcomp.exe: DOS version of Logcomp.exe. ss95ph*.dat: Two example files for testing. readcomp.txt: This file. This utility reads in TR .dat files that contain complete QSO points and multiplier information. This utility will not be able to properly score the contest if this information is not available. This comparison routine opens the input log files read only. However you should always save backup copies of your original log files in case an error occurs. These routines will not write over an existing file. You must delete an output file if you wish to run the comparison program again to generate a file with the same name. This utility can not compare two contest logs from different years. Both logs must start with QSO's within 48 hours of each other. Output Options The output files are in text format. The default report prints comparisons of the logs based on score, score delta (increase in last time slice) total QSO count and total multiplier count. "-oqsos" outputs a file that lists comparisons based on total QSOs worked, QSO count difference, rate and the rate difference per time slice. "-t
