CODE TESTING (ELEM 1)

All code testing exams for 5 WPM are given using code tapes prepared by the ARRL VEC. This exam will be in the form of a normal on the air "QSO" between two amateur operators. All code exams are prepared using the Farnsworth Code Method.

After copying the code, your written exam will consist of (10) questions. These will be "Fill in the Blank type questions". The old "Multiple Choice" tests will no longer be given. Your answers must come from your own code copy. You must answer at least 7 questions of the 10 correctly. You may also pass based on one minute of correct solid copy. (25 correct characters in a row at 5 wpm)

All letters A - Z count as (1) character. Pro-signs, Numbers and Punctuation count as (2) characters.

All morse code exams are given using a Cassette Tape player. Each applicant will be given the chance to have the volume adjusted to suit his or her individual needs.
