H.V.A.R.C. Minutes

April 4, 2006

 

The regular monthly meeting of the Hocking Valley Amateur Radio Club (H.V.A.R.C.) was called to order April 4, at 7:30 p.m. by 2006 club president Tom Odell (AB8SJ).  The secretary was present.

 

Visitors

No visitors were recognized.

 

Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer’s report presented by Gene Smith (N8BUS).

Report may be viewed at any regular business meeting.

 

Committee Reports

Phil Stanley (KB8NZB) asked that the field day committee meet immediately following normal business.

 

Old Business

The E.O.C. has been notified that Tom Odell and Dave Brimner (KB8OTU) will represent amateur radio at the upcoming (table-top) mock disaster.

 

Dave Brimner has no new information about possible weather spotter training.

 

Bill Parker was recently invited to address our club and advises he is currently preparing for Dayton, but is willing to schedule a date with us following the event.

 

Dave Brimner has no new information about the upcoming G.O.B.A. event.  Event organizers advise repeater coverage was poor in the area they were working during testing.

 

 

New Business

Kay Wilson of the Memorial Day Parade Committee contacted our club about setting up the public address system in the cemetery.  Tim Woodgard will be primary contact to arrange picking up the system.  Gary Tucker (W8TUK), Phil Wolfe (KC8YBZ) and Tom Odell will be responsible for system set-up the day of the event.  Tom Odell will arrange for picking up the system.

 

Athens hamfest will be held April 30.  Coalton hamfest will be held April 8.  Dayton hamvention will be held May 19, 20 and 21.

The flower fund drawing was held.  The winner, Mel Myers (AA8BJ) returned proceeds back to the fund.

Motion to Adjourn

Gary Tucker made a motion to adjourn.  Brad Taulbee (KD8AJG) seconded the motion.  The president adjourned the meeting at 8:30pm.  Next meeting shall be March 7 at 7:30pm.
