This year's Kid's Day Event was held on June 19 at Kachelmacher Park in Logan. Several Hocking Valley Amateur Radio Club members helped in the setup of the HF station. Harry Vollmer, W8LXC, and Rick Sams, KC8KNO, setup the station and helped out while the kids communicated with other Kid's Day participants from across the country.

On Kid's Day, Amateur Radio enthusiasts invite their children, young people from the neighborhood, or even a local scout troop to get behind the microphone and make radio contact with other kids participating in the event. Kid's Day is sponsored jointly by the Boring (Ore.) Amateur Radio Club and the American Radio Relay League.
