Field Day - Mt Hamilton California - Santa Clara County Amateur Radio Association
Mount Hamilton is east of San Jose California at an elevation of
4000 feet. It is best known as the site of Lick
Observatory. The electrical power was from a surplus military
generator mounted on a trailer. Both HF and VHF AM, SSB and CW were
used. I do not remember any FM operation at this time on
VHF. Picnic tables and tents were used. I don't remember
any RV's or house trailers. The road up Mt. Hamilton is steep
with lots of sharp curves.

On the far right the receiver appears to be a Hammarlund HQ-170 or HQ-180. The the left the transmitter appears to be a Johnson Viking Ranger
(CW and AM) transmitter. The next box with the two large black
dials is my homemade antenna tuner with a VSWR bridge. The box to
the left I believe is a Heathkit VFO for some transmitter. Not
sure what the next box to the left is but probably was made by
Viking. It could be another VFO for another Viking transmitter
not in the photo. I don't know what is on the far left where you
only see the back side.
This is probably a year or two later.
