Trail Head from the approach Rd. showing view of surrounding mountains and snow in the middle of July.  Very cold at night, lots of mosquitoes during the day.

Red Cross "Refreshment Tent" provided, coffee, doughnuts, soup, potato chips, etc., etc.  A general meeting place for the missing person's family and search personnel.

The Canyon Creed Search called on the resources of almost every county in Western Washington.  The Pierce County Explorer SAR unit was very impressive.  The communications trailer was very 1st class.

Sheriff Deputy Ratayczak (far right) organizes the search teams.  Communications with the Sheriffs office is maintained via the Whatcom County RACES Van (K7ZC)
