There is an ARES® Amateur Radio Emergency Service® net Monday evenings at 7:00 PM on the 145.430 - 600 kHz. repeater on Scott Mt. The net includes listing of ham related items wanted, for sale or for trade.
Check-ins are solicited. The local Roseburg ARES® repeater, 145.470 (-) has a 123 Hz. tone. The ARES® Repeater is a privately owned closed repeater for ARES/Oregon Emergency management card holders only.
DCARES serves the Emergency Services Division of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office by providing support to the Search and Rescue (SAR) group. DCARES trains with SAR and has a representative on the SAR council. In addition to our service to the SAR group, we also provide auxiliary communication to the Emergency Management division of the Sheriff's Office. We staffed the EOC during the two recent flood and land slide disaster events in Douglas County. DCARES is a member of the Emergency Management Advisory Group, "EMAG".
