Evergreen Intertie

Introduction

Technical Information

Repeaters

The BEARS belong to a loose confederation of repeaters located between Salem, OR and Seattle, WA, and east past Spokane, WA. These repeaters are interconnected via UHF full duplex links from one site to the next with 2 major backbone links, "East-West" from Seattle to Spokane, "North-South" from Seattle to Portland. Use of the Evergreen Intertie, by law, is restricted to amateurs but design, construction, and repair are open to all.   These links are usually kept off, and all individual repeater sites have currently elected to keep their user frequency off-link as a standard configuration. There are user access codes available to allow users to re-configure the system within reason for personal contacts. The system needs to be left in the configuration designated in the official information hand-out.
