To promote interest in amateur radio. The club has a club call sign K7NWS, and maintains a Hamshack-trailer which has been at the Kent Space Center. We will be moving in the near future. See the article on page 4 of the October BEARFAX. The BEARS maintain a repeater on the 2 meter frequency of 145.33 MHz located about 20 miles east of Seattle at 3000 feet elevation on Tiger Mountain. The BEARS also maintains a landline BBS with information of use and interest to their members, and maintains a connection into the Amateur Packet Radio Network (AMPRNET) which is an amateur radio extension of the Internet.
