Purpose Coming Events Membership

To promote interest in amateur radio. The club has a club call sign K7NWS, and maintains a Hamshack-trailer at the Kent Space Center which is located in an area outside the fence south of Bldg. 18-03. (Upper left on Map). The BEARS maintain a repeater on the 2 meter frequency of 145.33 MHz located about 20 miles east of Seattle at 3000 feet elevation on Tiger Mountain. The BEARS also maintains a landline BBS with information of use and interest to their members, and maintains a connection into the Amateur Packet Radio Network (AMPRNET) which is an amateur radio extension of the Internet. Membership in the BEARS here in Seattle is open to all Boeing Employees and Boeing Retirees. Associate Membership is available to all Boeing Employee families, Boeing Retirees families, Boeing On-site Vendor Employees, and Retired Boeing On-site Vendor Employees, and their families.
