Amateur Radio Station

(Lake City [N. Seattle], WA)

CALL SIGN K7KCS SINCE 1959

Amateur Radio can be a lifetime hobby, you can take it anywhere you go.  I got my first license when I was in High School North of Seattle. My station has gone with me from Seattle to Hawaii to Okinawa to Seattle to Winnapeg and back to Seattle.   The equipment can be very simple and cheap if you want/need it to be.  I assembled my first transmitter to save a few bucks.  Buying outdated used equipment was another money saver.  Climbing trees to put up wire antennas beats towers and beams by close to $1000 or more.  Where antennas were frowned on I put them in the attic.  When I got older I could afford better equipment and did.  Some Hams backpack with their stations others would need a moving van and a fork lift to go mobile.   The hobby has a lot of options.
