Bob Norin was first licensed in 1954 as WN7YAQ. He developed an
early interest in contesting and won the 1955 Novice Roundup for
the Washington Section. He has held his current call, W7YAQ,
since 1955. He received DXCC in 1958.

After 20 years of relative radio inactivity due to stints in the
US Navy, college, grad school, family raising, and apartment
living, Bob and his family moved to Oregon in the late 70s.
There he found space to put up an antenna or two, and got back
on the air.

Bob has been an active contester and DXer. He has top ten
finishes in the ARRL DX and Sweepstakes contests. He currently
has 311 countries confirmed, with 5BDXCC and 5BWAS, all running
low power. He is a past President of the Willamette Valley DX
Club, and handles the "S" section of the 7th Area QSL Bureau.

Bob and his wife Kay live in Tigard, Oregon. They have two grown
sons. Bob is an engineer with Intel Corporation.
