Bay Area Chapter of Ten Ten International

Chapter Head: Vince Walton - K6BIR
Certificate Managers: David P Smith - K6RDK and Jack Ruckman - AC6FU

Greetings from all of us at the Bay Area Chapter and welcome! There are two types of memberships to the Bay Area Chapter of Ten Ten International: Local and Non-Local members. Members who live around the Bay Area and check into our Monday evening net five times receive a Local Bay Area certificate. This certificate carries a number between 1 and 4000. Other members, especially those remote who cannot check into the net, receive a Non-Local certificate. Before April of 1993, non local certificates were unnumbered. Beginning that April, they were numbered starting at 4000. Existing Non-Local members (those who joined before April 1993 and received a certificate without a number), can apply for a number free of charge by contacting the certificate manager for the basic award.
Other Bay Area awards include the 49er, the Gold Nugget and the Grand Award. As with all Ten Ten chapters, a copy of your paid-up dues card must be included with all applications. It will be returned to you along with your number and certificate.
When applying for basic membership, you have the option of either receiving our handsome certificates which range from $2.00 to $3.50 for the Grand Award, or just receiving a number which is free. Whether your a Local or Non-Local member, your point value to other stations is the same regardless of whether you have a physical certificate. Membership in the chapter is what's important. Applications for membership without the certificate requires the same documentation as with, except for your payment. If you elect not to purchase the certificates, you still must include an SASE to have your information and number returned to you.

The requirements for the Basic, 49er, Gold Nugget, and Grand Award Certificate are as follows:

1. Bay Area Basic: Click here to see certificate

All applicants must hold Gold Nugget certificate or apply concurrently. All applicants must work 49 holders of the Gold Nugget certificate, 5 of whom must be 'C', 'H', of 'HC'.
