Why use Linux?
Open Source software is software that you can see and in most cases submit modifications for the source code. This allows people to change the software to suit their needs, and it also allows for much better bug testing abilities than a regular paid programming staff in a closed source environment.
Linux gives people the freedom to do with it as they want, as they need. There is also a much better sense of community. Also Linux can be had for free from the Internet, with no strings attached, or annoying "Register now" shareware reminders.
Linux does not “lock-in” people to any one vendor, and they are free to make changes as necessary.
Linux is Free as in freedom of speech, and free as in cost. This can be of tremendous benefit to many people.
