The City of Hayward RACES/ARES program lends support to local American Red Cross Service Center, providing Amateur Radio operators for shelter sites and other requested communications duties. We participate in the training nets and staff the shelters as required during actual emergencies.

We also maintain an American Red Cross radio position in our communications center, co-located with the Hayward Radio Club station behind Fire Station #6, on West Winton Avenue in Hayward, California.
