I then got a 1/4inch steel plate and mounted it to the frunt bumper with 1/2" bolts. Fairly sturdy now.







mobile mount from sidethis is a side view of the whip mount. There are three 1/2" bolts in a triangular pattern that provide ridgid support for the 1/4 plate. This bolts to the car frame and just slips between the cowling of the frunt of the car. I could take it off and one would not see the effect except for the three holes behind the bumper.

mobile radio in carThis is where the radio goes inside the car. I cut out a bit of the lower dash and just slide the radio in. I take it out when I get out of the car. Only one power connector and two coax connectors to remove / install the radio. Someday I may install the radio in the trunk and use the separated control head to control the radio...
