Robin KA6HWT

Robin was born on in East Orange, New Jersey.  Two months and Eleven days later she had her first flight: to Los Angeles from La Guardia Airport in New York

During her growing up years she was interested in a lot of things including drawing, geography, geology, horses, and Racing cars (starting when she was about 12 or 13). 

She went to Kindergarten and 1st through 6th grades at Rio Vista school and then to 7th through 9th at North Hollywood Jr. High School. She first went to Hollywood High and then transferred back to North Hollywood. After the completion of the Woodland Hills house, she transferred to Canoga Park High and graduated there. Her next step was to go to Pierce Junior College as an art Major. Next, she went to a business college.  At Fidelity Bank in Beverly Hills, she was introduced to the teletype machine.  After leaving Fidelity, she wound up at Bar-S-Stables where she worked for about 10 years, then the Urological Medical Group for another 10 years.  She then went to work for Bengal Air at Burbank Airport.  In all these years of work she managed to continue trying to paint and draw.  Her interest in Race Cars, Earthquakes, Tsunami’s, Volcano’s, Weather, Archeology, Paleontology  and all the other things continued to develop.  She had a large penchant for history and has of all sorts of collected books and has read them over and over.  

During all these years she has owned 2 horses, and 3 dogs and 6 cats . She has loved and enjoyed them very much.  

In 1996 she came to the Coachella Valley to take care of her Dad (her mother died here in 1994.  When he died she decided to stay in Palm Desert. Although things have changed over her life she has always tried to keep learning about anything that is of interest to her and more.

Harold K6TQM

Harold retired in 1993 after thirty-seven years with Hughes, Ground Systems Group in Fullerton CA. The last twelve years with Hughes he was the manager of Product Assurance. He moved full time to the Desert in 1996. Harold was first licensed as a Technician in 1998, and then upgraded to General, then Extra, in 2001. He is currently a member of the Coachella Valley Amateur Radio Club (CVARC). He is the Treasurer and is past President of four years. He is a RACES member and currently holds the position of Deputy Chief East, Riverside County Fire, Office of Emergency Services.

Harold has four sons, two stepdaughters and a lovely wife, Joyce KG6FHU. His hobbies other the Radio are fishing, hunting, camping and golf.
