I have been a ham radio operator since June 1987 when I first went for my novice license. I received the callsign of  KC4ATQ which caused quite a commotion at the time because the KC4 prefix caused others to think I was in ANTARCTICA.  After upgrading to general class I received the call of  N4QYK which I then changed to WY7U.   I kept this callsign until the advent of the VANITY CALL SIGN.  I asked for and received my present call in tribute to one of my many elmers BUS, K4IX.. Many thanks to him , GENE ,N4BRA, and  CAREY,KT4P for helping me along.

My present station consists of an ICOM 706  hf transceiver, a 2 element QUAD antenna, Hallicrafters HT-41 amplifier, KANTRONICS KAM all mode tnc that I use for packet and hf rtty, and various laptop computers.   I use my quad antenna from 6-80 meters although it was only designed for 10-20m.  It does remarkably well on 40 and 80m as my logbook and fellows hams in the area will attest.

MANY thanks to AL, K3TKJ for allowing hams to enter web pages on his server.

I have just assumed the duties as the ARRL W5 "S" sorter for the incoming qsl bureau. Anyone with "S" suffixes may email me with any questions they may have concerning how many cards/stamps/envelopes they have on file. Please bare with me while I learn the ropes.
